Reset devices before return shipment (factory settings)

To ensure we can test and reuse your device, it must be fully reset before you send it back:

  • Factory reset

  • no personal data (contacts, photos, chats, documents, etc.)

  • no passwords, PINs, screen locks

  • no cloud / theft locks (Apple “Find My”, iCloud/Activation Lock, Google FRP)

  • no MDM / Remote Management (company device management)

Important: After the reset, the device must boot into the setup assistantwithout asking for a previous Apple/Google account and without a “Remote Management” screen.

1) Reset a Windows laptop (Windows 10/11)

  1. StartSettings

  2. SystemRecovery

  3. Under “Reset this PC”, click “Reset PC”

  4. Select “Remove everything”

  5. Optional (recommended): enable “Clean data / Clean the drive” if available

Additional (if applicable): disconnect Work or School account

2) Reset Apple (Iphone/Ipad/Macbook)

Reset an Macbook

  1. Apple menuSystem Settings

  2. GeneralTransfer or Reset

  3. Start “Erase All Content and Settings” and follow the assistant

Reset an iPhone/Ipad

  1. SettingsGeneral

  2. Transfer or Reset iPhone

  3. Erase All Content and Settings

  4. If prompted: enter your device passcode and Apple account password

Apple (additional): Remove iCloud / “Find My” (Activation Lock)

To ensure Activation Lock is removed, the device must be removed from iCloud:

  1. Sign in at icloud.com/find (with the Apple account linked to the device)

  2. Select the device → if needed, choose “Erase”

  3. Then select “Remove from Account / Remove This Device”

3) Reset an Android phone (factory reset)

Important: Remove all accounts before resetting. Otherwise, a lock may remain active (FRP/reactivation) and the device will ask for the previous login details during setup.

  2. Also (if applicable): remove the manufacturer account, e.g. Samsung Account / Xiaomi (Mi) Account / Huawei ID

Delete personal data

Please delete all personal data (contacts, SMS/chats, photos, files, etc.).
onyo is not liable for any damage or data privacy risks caused by remaining data.

If you cannot delete data due to a defect, please inform us clearly. In this case, no data backup will be created, and we will only perform a limited technical check to avoid accessing any personal data.

Remove credentials & locks

Before sending the device, the following must be removed:

  • PIN/password/screen lock

  • Cloud/theft locks (Google FRP, Apple “Find My” / iCloud / Activation Lock)

  • Company management (MDM / Remote Management)

If the device cannot be processed due to active locks or missing access details, this may result in additional costs or the device may need to be returned unprocessed.

SIM/eSIM (if applicable)

Please remove the SIM card and delete any eSIM profiles if present.
